Who Are We?

In 2012, the Drug Free Run became an activity of the Union County Safe Communities Coalition (UCSCC). It continues to be a fundraising and community event that brings diverse individuals together annually in a drug free environment to promote safe and healthy lifestyles. The Drug Free Run could not exist without the hard work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers, relay participants, organizations, and businesses.

What is the Run?

Beginning in 2016 we changed from a relay format and will have 1 mile, 5 K and 10 K trail run courses. There will be an opportunity to register on race day at 7:30 am. The race will begin at 8:30 am.

What is the Point?

Most people enjoy testing their own limits and thrill to the camaraderie of of a community race. We also strengthen our community as we come together annually to take a united stand against substance abuse.

What happens to the funds raised?

They are invested in community projects that advance strategies consistent with the UCSCC action plan. They fund projects/events that target changes to community norms, practices or policies.

Is my donation tax-deductable?

As an activity of the Union County Safe Communities Coalition contributions to the Drug Free Relay are a tax deductible donation. UCSCC is a community based organization housed in the Union County offices.
