Got Magic? During the Week of September 22nd UCSCC in partnership with CHD and The Grande Ronde Hospital Community Benefit Program brought prevention education to Union County in a magical way. Brad Barton uses magic to promote positive choices in our lives. Brad was able to present his message at all public schools in Union County as well as one of the private schools. Union County parents also had the opportunity to experience Brad’s message at a free community event that filled the Maridell Center with 240 engaged participants. Brad is also a world class master’s athlete who currently holds three world records in the master’s division, this allowed him to make a connection with EOU Student athletes in his evening presentation specifically tailored for them.
October is Red Ribbon Month in Union County! This year’s celebration encourages community members to paint the town red by decorating their windows, doors or building in red to show support of a drug free community. There will also be red ribbon activities in some schools and classrooms. The Coalition likes to partner with schools to support their red ribbon efforts. October 15th is Wear Red Day in Union County, we would love to see a large portion of our community showing support for a drug free Union County by wearing red.
